Recently, we managed to get our hands on some interior spy photos of the upcoming Geely Emgrand RS. These images reveal significant changes in the car's cabin compared to the current model. Interestingly, there are rumors suggesting that the vehicle will adopt a new naming convention moving forward.
Inside, the new Emgrand RS features a refreshed layout for the infotainment controls beneath the LED display. The button arrangement now appears more compact and user-friendly. Additionally, the central console has undergone a redesign, with the electronic parking brake relocated to the left side, while the right side includes a convenient card holder.
The exterior updates are equally noteworthy. Reports indicate that the front end has received a facelift, featuring a new bumper and retaining the familiar family-style "horseshoe" grille. The headlight design has become sharper and more angular, aligning with the updated front fascia. Similarly, the rear styling showcases angular taillights that complement the headlights.
In terms of performance, the new Emgrand RS offers two engine options. The existing 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine remains, producing 103 horsepower (76 kilowatts), while a new 1.4-liter turbocharged unit has been introduced, delivering 133 horsepower (98 kilowatts). Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual or CVT for the 1.5-liter variant, but details about the 1.4-liter model’s gearbox remain scarce.
Overall, the Geely Emgrand RS seems poised to deliver a blend of enhanced aesthetics and improved functionality.
