As of April this year, LeTV sold more than 2.5 million TV sets. In Liang Junjun’s eyes, the number of televisions was between 8 million and 10 million units in order to operate more smoothly.
"Jia Zong (Jia Yue Ting) is currently the most concerned about sales," Liang Jun said: "Sales is the basis for content operations."
In fact, LeTV’s advertising revenue after the Spring Festival this year has passed 100 million yuan. However, LeTV is still in an unprofitable state.
At this stage, most Internet TVs develop products under the framework of "content+software+system+hardware". The low-cost environment makes it difficult for televisions to profit from hardware. How to operate TV content and expand advertising resources has become the key to the profitability of Internet TV.
"We must take the industry to run. This year will have a major change in the product and content." Liang Jun revealed that the third generation of LeTV will be released this year.
Rectification is nearing completion
For the SARFT's management and control, Liang Jun said that all content of LeTV should be within the scope allowed by SARFT. "Radio and TV are not trying to suppress the Internet. They just do content supervision and do not control the development of technology."
The relationship between LeTV and the SARFT dates back to July last year. The SARFT requested the Internet TV to be rectified. LeTV and CCTV have violated regulations in the Internet STB cooperation and were required to rectify. During the rectification period, licensees other than CCTV suspended their music videos. Cooperation, after the completion of the rectification and acceptance, other licensees will continue to cooperate with LeTV.
Liang Jun revealed to reporters that rectification is nearing completion. “What LeTV wants to learn is to follow the policy, instead of thinking about the Internet in the past. We are studying the contents of the TV station.â€
