BlackBerry's new mobile touch keyboard will provide authentication

Tencent Digital (Compile: Guti) BlackBerry has previously said that it will not develop its own smartphone hardware products, but this does not prevent BlackBerry from continuing to have some new ideas in the design of some new features. Although Blackberry will develop towards a pure software company in the future, you must remember the new Blackberry codenamed Mercury that was exposed before. And now this new machine will seem to bring us some bigger surprises, not just an OEM product.

Recently, a new BlackBerry patent has just been approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office. This patent describes the basic physical touch keyboard authentication system. From the patent picture, a smart phone equipped with a traditional three-row BlackBerry QWERTY full keyboard will bring us more security in the future, and is very likely to be used in the future of the new BlackBerry.

According to the description of the patent document, a computing device is equipped with a touch keyboard and provides an authentication function. Including the password set by the user can be input and unlocked through the touch keyboard. The user can unlock the device or verify his or her identity without having to actually press the button and only need to perform a specific gesture in the keyboard area.

From the patent introduction, we learned that BlackBerry will also develop a special app to help the device to authenticate, and can choose to recognize the user's identity only by touching the keyboard. Although we are not sure whether the new features described in this patent will appear on the undisclosed Blackberry DTEK60 new machine, the possibility of Blackberry licensing it to third-party foundries to use the product in the future is still quite high.
