Does Amazon Get a Umbrella Delivery Patent with a Parachute?

According to foreign media reports, when it comes to drones, Amazon seems never to lack ideas. In December last year, the company applied for a patent to use airships to deliver drones. Perhaps the patent that Amazon just received from the US Patent and Trademark Administration (USPTO) was not as wild as the airship, but it was a good idea. It was a parachute. It is understood that the patent will allow the UAV to open the package at a certain height, but in the course of its decline, it will monitor and adjust its flight path.

If the package is off track, the drone can use radio communication to guide it to open a parachute, compressed air tank, or landing flap.

The parachute patent is the latest result of the Prime Air drone delivery project being launched by Amazon. Right now, Amazon’s drones have fully automated flying capabilities. In addition, it can use sensors and collision avoidance technology to ensure its own flight safety. However, due to legal requirements, drones still require human monitoring.
