Tencent Digital (Su Yang) X16-based products have not been listed on the "outdated."

On October 18th, Beijing time, Qualcomm officially announced the new X50 baseband chip at the 4G/5G summit held in Hong Kong. It was commercially available in the first half of 2018 and was less than a year away from the release of the previous generation X16.

The newly released X50 baseband initially supports operation in the 28 GHz band mmWave spectrum, using multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology. By supporting 800 MHz wideband, the theoretical peak value of the X50 baseband downlink rate can reach 5 Gbps (625 MB/s).

Compared with the predecessor X16, the X50 iteration time of this release is less than one year, and the downlink rate has increased by 5 times. A 2GB 720p resolution movie can be downloaded in less than 4 seconds in theory.

It is reported that the X50 baseband is specifically designed for 4G/5G multimode mobile devices and fixed broadband devices. It can be paired with an integrated Gigabit LTE baseband (X16). With dual connectivity technology, the X16 baseband can provide a wide area coverage network for early 5G networks. .

According to the official introduction, the X50 baseband supports enhanced 5G mobile broadband, which will provide better real-time performance between users and cloud services, while providing better conditions for the consumption and production of media content, and for more Internet Services reach the ultimate home and organization to facilitate.

In the specific business hours, the first prototype using the X15 baseband will be available in the second half of 2017. The official business hours will be the first half of 2018.

It is worth mentioning that Nokia, which focuses on communications infrastructure, is currently testing 5G technology. However, the official commercial roadmap is not yet clear. At this time, Qualcomm fixed the commercial time of 5G baseband in 2018, and it may also boost Nokia, including Nokia. All 5G related solutions within the company are unveiled in advance.
