The street light belongs to the Toshiba E-Core series of LED lights. Under the premise of an average power consumption of 122W, multiple LED street lights can achieve an average brightness of 1 lumen. In general, the power consumption of 400W mercury lamp (KSC-4) or 180W high-pressure sodium (KSH-2) is 415W and 195W, respectively. Therefore, Toshiba Lighting and Technology believes that the use of the LED street light can greatly reduce the power consumption of lighting on the national highway.
Moreover, the brightness of the LED street light can be gradually adjusted, and the maximum adjustment range is 50% (requires input voltage 200V). The life of the light source is 60,000 hours (the beam maintenance rate is 70%), which is 5 times that of the mercury lamp and 2.5 times that of the high-pressure sodium lamp, and can reduce the maintenance cost.
Even if there is a problem with the LED module, the street light can still be illuminated by one of the two power lines, and the module also has the function of gradually increasing the brightness when starting up to protect the human eye.
