Want to make chef-like delicious dishes Try this cooking robot

Tencent Digital (Compiled: Hamish) Tim Anderson is the winner of the BBC's "Cooky Master", although I haven't seen him or eaten the dishes he personally made for me. But I Know the taste of the crab soup he made. Maybe Anderson should worry about his job because now there is a robot on the market that perfectly reproduces his kitchen skills. This robot can even imitate human hand movements.

A few days ago Moley Robotics Kitchen released a prototype of a cooking robot. In the future, it may be able to end all kitchenware. The robot has two robot arms that were originally used in factories where they are driven by dozens of motors, joints, and sensors. The robot is installed above a work table filled with all kinds of kitchenware and cooking utensils.

Cool operation flow

At present, this robot only makes one dish - Anderson crab soup. Its cooking process is quite scientific fiction: After the activation process, the robotic arm will open the hob in the preparation area, pick up the raw material container, use Anderson's method to heat and stir the ingredients. Moley Robotics Kitchen plans to launch recipes for this robot in the future so that it can cook dishes according to the needs of users.

Sophisticated mechanical movements are always so enchanting, and the whole robot is almost covered by the heat rising from the pot when cooking. After about 25 minutes (which takes far less time than some novice chefs), a hot pot of steamed and decorated crab soup is done. All you need to do is pick up the spoon and eat.

At present, this robot is still in the prototype stage, the official version will be on line in 2018. There will be some differences between the prototype and the official version: First, the official version will be more compact, you can easily put it into the kitchen; second, when the stop cooking, the official version of the robot arm will be retracted above the table In the compartment. Finally, you don't have to worry about being struck by a waving arm, or worry about grabbing a cat on the side and throwing it into the pan because there is a sliding door that holds the robotic arm before the device starts.

Ultra-quiet operation

You may feel that the robot arm in the kitchen must be very noisy to operate, but in reality the robot is very quiet and only makes small noises when the arm is moving. According to Mark Oleynik, chief executive of Moley Robotics Kitchen, its use cost is only slightly higher than that of the kettle.

This magical robot can make delicious dishes quietly, and it is inexpensive to run. It will not affect your cooking in the kitchen. You can still use all kinds of kitchen utensils as usual. With it, you can eat hot meals after work every day without hiring a chef.

Of course, there is no perfect product in the world. Its disadvantage is that you must handle all the ingredients in advance and put the ingredients into the equipment. In addition, it does not have a cleaning function, so you need to clean it after you finish the dish. However, compared with doing a meal, these two really have nothing to complain about.

expensive

Obviously, this powerful cooking robot won't bid too low - it costs between $75,000 and $100,000. However, its price is still much cheaper than hiring a top chef. According to a BBC report last year, the consumer price of this product will be around $1.25 million. Perhaps shortly afterwards, we can enjoy Michelin-starred restaurant-style cuisine at home without leaving our home.
