Zhongshan next year LED strives to achieve a production value of 500 billion yuan or more

Yesterday, Zhongshan Science and Technology Award Conference and the city's scientific and technological work conference was held. The reporter learned from the meeting that in 2010, Zhongshan selected one person for the major science and technology contribution award, three for production-study-research cooperation awards, and 89 science and technology progress awards. Compared with previous years, the proportion of emerging industry results has further increased in 2010 award-winning project results.

The deputy mayor of Zhongshan City, Situ Weizhan, revealed at the meeting that in 2012, led industry realized output value of more than 500 billion yuan. Chen Maohui, mayor of Zhongshan City, said at the meeting that Zhongshan must adhere to “green growth” and develop a low-carbon economy.

According to the briefing, Cao Renjing, Chief Technical Officer of Mingyang Wind Power Industry Group Co., Ltd., who won the Award for Major Contribution to Science and Technology, successively presided over the development and industrialization of MW series, offshore, and offshore wind power equipment, and chaired the development of the world's first 3.0 MW ultra-compact type. Wind turbines broke the monopoly of foreign technology and accelerated the process of localization of large-scale fan equipment in China.

At the meeting, Situ Weizhan, deputy mayor of Zhongshan City, disclosed that Zhongshan will accelerate the promotion of electric vehicle industrial bases and wind power equipment bases, and vigorously attract affiliated enterprises to enter, striving for the 2012 new energy industry output value of more than 100 billion yuan. We will vigorously promote the construction of a “Green Lighting Demonstration City” and ensure that by 2012, the city will newly install 50,000 LED street lamps and drive the LED industry to achieve an output value of more than RMB 50 billion.
