Jingdong unsupermarket black technology opened on 11-11

On the afternoon of October 17th, JD.com unveiled a range of innovative retail solutions and products designed for the upcoming 11.11 Global Shopping Festival. As part of its strategy to revolutionize the retail landscape, the company announced a collaboration with Tencent to develop an integrated online and offline retail model. In addition, JD.com is launching a series of unmanned retail initiatives, including unmanned supermarkets, fully automated warehouses, and smart delivery vehicles. Jingdong Group’s Chief Marketing Officer, Xu Lei, emphasized that the future of retail lies in breaking boundaries. He believes that consumer behavior, shopping scenarios, supply chains, and marketing will become more decentralized and flexible. This new approach eliminates time and space constraints, blurs the lines between brands, manufacturers, and platforms, and integrates data flow to boost industry efficiency. The goal is to embrace the concept of "unbounded retail." Ma Song, Senior Vice President at Jingdong, revealed that during the 11.11 event, the company's independently developed unmanned convenience stores and supermarkets will be officially launched within the Jingdong Global Headquarters Park. These stores are equipped with cutting-edge technology, offering a seamless and efficient shopping experience. The Jingdong Smart Store Technology System (D-Mart) powers these unmanned convenience stores. It is the world’s first low-cost, modular smart store solution. Featuring smart shelves, intelligent cameras, smart checkout tables, and digital billboards, it can be easily adapted to different environments such as supermarkets, gas stations, airports, and hotels. JD X's unmanned supermarkets leverage facial recognition and image recognition technologies to create a fully digital, hands-free shopping experience. Customers can enter using face recognition, which links their identity and payment information once and for all. During the shopping process, RFID, facial recognition, and image recognition ensure a smooth experience—just pick up what you need and walk out without waiting in line. In addition to the unmanned stores, JD.com’s self-developed automated warehouses will also play a key role during the 11.11 event. The fully automated warehouse in Shanghai handles storage, packaging, and sorting in a completely intelligent and unmanned manner, capable of processing up to 200,000 orders per day. JD.com has also expanded the operational range of its drones and delivery robots. Since this year, the company has been running dozens of drone routes in cities like Xi’an and Suqian. Delivery robots are now operating in multiple parks across Beijing, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, and Hunan. Additionally, JD’s first autonomous trucks in the domestic logistics sector are undergoing intensive testing. Ma Song concluded, “The retail innovations driven by technology will offer consumers a fresh and exciting experience on 11.11. Behind the seamless and unrestricted shopping journey, JD.com’s technology is accelerating the flow of data, goods, and capital, creating even greater value for the industry.”
