OSRAM Optoelectronics Introduces New Light Source OSLON SSL LED

Osram-os Semiconductor has introduced a new high-quality white OSLON SSL LED. With an enclosure size of only 3 x 3 mm, the LEDs are exceptionally efficient, typically up to 100 lm/W. It also maintains excellent luminous efficiency at high currents, combined with simplified heat management, high reliability and a beam angle of 80°, which lays the foundation for high application efficiency. The LED is also an ideal source for spotlights, desk lamps and ceiling floodlights.

The new OSLON SSL LED is a 1 W class LED for general lighting applications. This LED is very small in size and stable in performance, maintaining excellent luminous efficiency even at high currents. In addition, because it has a beam angle of 80°, it is ideal for projecting light onto an external lens.

The LED's low thermal resistance of only 7 K/W makes thermal management simpler; its small size gives designers the flexibility to create complex and sophisticated lighting solutions. If you need extra strong light, you can combine several sources together. In addition to ultra-white light with a color temperature between 5700 K and 6500 K, medium white and warm white light will also be available this summer, with color temperatures ranging from 2700 K to 4500 K.

OSLON SSL LEDs are manufactured using the latest chip technology to ensure extremely high luminous efficiency. At present, when the operating current is 350 mA, the light source's ultra-white light (color temperature of 5700 K and 6500 K) has a typical brightness of 110 lm and a luminous flux of up to 130 lm. With an operating current of 350 mA and a color temperature of 3000 K, the typical luminous efficiency is 75 lm/W and the brightness is 85 lm. At an operating current of 700 mA (warm white light), the brightness can be as high as 155 lm. In short, the advantage of this LED is that a high level of illumination can be achieved with a small number of LEDs.

The new OSLON SSL LED replaces the halogen lamps used in spotlights, desk lamps and reading lamps, as well as in LED bulb applications.
