Texas Instruments (TI) today announced new TVP5158, TVP5157 and TVP5156 multi-channel NTSC/PAL video decoders for superior image quality. The three new devices feature an advanced two-dimensional adaptive comb filter core and image enhancement techniques such as automatic contrast control and video noise filtering. The new TVP515x decodes four channels of video input simultaneously, making it an ideal solution for applications that require multi-channel decoding in a space-saving, low-cost manner. Such applications include multi-channel digital video recorders (DVRs), digital video servers (DVS), hybrid DVRs, video conferencing cameras, and digital signage products. In addition, the TVP5158's highly flexible video output seamless interface with TI's digital media processors based on DaVinciTM technology (TMS320DM6467 and TMS320DM365) eliminates the need for external FPGAs, significantly reducing system cost.
