Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that it has added a new member to its LittleStarTM family of LEDs - the 1W white LED led by the automotive industry standard --- Little StarVLMW711U2U3XV, which combines ultra-high brightness and compact package form factor. The Little StarVLMW711U2U3XV also features low thermal resistance and high luminous intensity for a wide range of applications.
With its SMD power package, compact 6.0mm x 6.0mm area and ultra-thin thickness of 1.5mm, Vishay's new Little StarTM LED is among the most stable and luminous products. The new VLMW711U2U3XV has a drive current of up to 350mA and a very high brightness with a typical luminous intensity of 29,700mcd and a typical luminous flux of 90lm. The VLMW711U2U3XV has a 60° half-intensity angle and a 120° viewing angle and is compatible with infrared reflow processes. The LEDs are certified to the AEC-Q101 automotive standard and comply with RoHs2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC standards. The Little Star LED package is pre-treated according to JEDEC Moisture Sensitivity Lev el 2a standard, lead-free and RoHS compliant.
Vishay's new LEDs are optimized for general lighting, consumer products and other general-purpose applications that require high luminous flux to replace traditional incandescent lamps. Typical end products will include street lighting, architectural lighting, general lighting, and automotive applications such as daytime running lights, interior lighting, fog lights, and doorless warning lights.
