[High-tech LED reporter Tang Guirong reported] On March 15th, sponsored by Gaogong LED, the 2012 China LED Road Lighting Forum, which was exclusively sponsored by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, was successfully held in Qingdao. The meeting invited Ms. Xu Huai, Secretary General of the China Lighting Society, Mr. Zhang Hua, Deputy Secretary General of the Urban Road Lighting Professional Committee of the China Municipal Engineering Association, and more than 150 people from the streetlight management offices and design institutes across the country. During the forum, the guests discussed the current problems of LED road lighting and discussed the hot spots such as light efficiency, intelligence and EMC mode. After the meeting, the participants visited the Jiaozhou Bay Cross-Harbour Tunnel, the world's longest LED tunnel lighting project.

In 2011, domestic LED road lighting has developed rapidly. According to statistics from the LED Industry Research Institute (GLII) of the Higher Industrial Research Institute, the total output of domestic LED road lighting (including LED street lights and tunnel lights) in 2011 was 3.5 billion yuan, with a total output of 910,000 baht. Among them, the output value of street lamps is 2.9 billion yuan, the output is 680,000 baht, and the installed capacity is 530,000 baht. The LED tunnel light has an output value of 500 million yuan, a production capacity of 230,000 baht and an installed capacity of 190,000 baht.
Zhang Hua, deputy secretary-general of the Urban Road Lighting Professional Committee of the China Municipal Engineering Association, first delivered a speech. He said that with the improvement of LED technology, urban road lighting has undergone tremendous changes. However, at present, LED street lamps still have various problems such as product quality, standards, and price.

In view of the current status of LED road lighting, Dr. Zhang Xiaofei, Dean of the High-tech Industrial Research Institute, said that the lack of intelligent level, local protectionism, and lack of standard certification are urgent problems for the LED road lighting industry. He said that especially intelligent control is the future development direction, but it needs perfect system support and overall solution.

Yu Anqi, chairman of the Shanghai Lighting Society, gave a detailed introduction to the development of China's LED lighting standards. Dr. Shen Haiping from the Institute of Electric Light Sources of Fudan University elaborated on the research on modularization technology of LED tunnel lighting in Shanghai, and put forward opinions on the application of specification and quality control of LED tunnel lighting technology from various aspects of product, design application and engineering acceptance.

At the same time, the promotion of LED road lighting is largely due to the advancement of light source technology. Mr. Michael Schmitt, Marketing Director of Solid State Lighting Division of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, said that most people believe that power is the main cause of LED road lighting problems, but often overlooks the quality and reliability of the light source. According to the current state of the art, OSRAM has introduced a 2W, 700 mAh driven ceramic package, and the cold white light device can reach 120lm/w. He said, "This is mainly due to the U3 film technology of the chip and the technological innovation of the phosphor."
