Recently, Tyco Electronics, the world's leading electronic component supplier, announced a new reverse SMT board connector for the global market. The connector uses a simplified LED power supply design that allows current to pass from the lower layer of the FR4 or aluminum-based PCB board, which solves the problem of inconvenient wiring on the surface of the LED board, thereby greatly reducing the wiring time and cost for the customer. The new reverse SMT board connector products fully demonstrate Tyco Electronics' service tenet of satisfying customers' needs, and at the same time verify Tyco Electronics' strong R&D strength and leading position in the industry.
Tyco Electronics' new SMT board connector is available in 2 to 6 positions and uses surface mount technology. The board is used to transfer the interface to the back of the PCB. The reverse design of the connector allows Solid-state LED lighting in buildings, homes, and certain commercial applications is easier to install. The connector is fully matched to the standard MiniCT connector. The MiniCT connector is suitable for 24AWG wire and is rated for 3 amps.
Not only that, but the SMT board connector's compact form factor saves space, and the connector's rounded edges minimize shadow interference, making it suitable for through-hole or recessed board designs.
Tyco Electronics' reverse SMT board Connectors are made of high temperature resistant materials for reflow soldering, and the flat surface design also facilitates the use of vacuum tip packaging. The surface mount design of the connector provides better stability for the connector to be inserted and removed. Currently, the reverse SMT board connector has passed the US UL (UL1977, Fileno.E2847) and Canadian CSA certification.
