OmniVision introduces OV2710 image sensor that brings high-definition video to mobile phones
The OV2710 HD quality digital video digital camera meets the rapidly growing demand. The inherent 1080p high definition (HD) CMOS image sensor is designed to provide high-end video conferencing and recording functions for cameras, notebooks, netbooks, and other mobile applications.
The 1 / 3-inch sensor uses 3-µm OmniPixel3-HS pixel technology to provide a 1920x1080 array, with excellent low-light performance of 3300 mV / (lux-second), a dark current value of 6 mV / s, and 69 dB Dynamic range. Due to the above performance, the OV2710 can operate in a low-light environment below 15lux. The sensor operates at a rate of 30 frames per second and can support multiple platform architectures and controllers through parallel and MIPI interfaces.
OV2710 allows system designers to use the same optoelectronic design in various products and multi-market areas, thereby greatly reducing product development time. The OV2710 will be mass produced in September 2009.
