I’ve always believed that love needs a little surprise now and then. That’s why I pay extra attention to the “giving and receiving gifts†part during holidays and anniversaries. Over the past two years of being in a relationship, I’ve given my boyfriend gifts more than 10 times—big or small. In this post, I’ll share some of the gifts that received lots of praise and also share some tips on how to choose the perfect gift for your guy.

They’re usually easier to pick because you can observe what he wears daily and figure out his favorite brand. Choosing the right brand is key, and the style will rarely go wrong. Still, it's good to pay attention to his personal taste when shopping. If you're unsure, search online for popular options that match your budget.
1) **Onitsuka Tiger / Ghost Tiger TIGER ALLY D716N**
This retro-style sneaker from Arthur's line caught my eye immediately. It looks great and feels comfortable to wear. The best part? It fits within a reasonable budget. My boyfriend got them just over a week ago and has been wearing them non-stop. He’s really happy with them! However, there are some downsides: the upper is made of canvas, which isn't very dirt-resistant. If you're often on crowded subways, this might not be the best choice.
I only found two pictures from when I first bought them a year ago. The color isn’t as pure white as expected.

**II. Anime and Game Peripherals**
Anime and games are often a boy’s passion from childhood. When thinking about a gift, consider something related to his interests—whether it's gaming or anime. (Note: If your boyfriend is a collector, avoid random gifts, or he might get upset.) Since my boyfriend is a Naruto fan, I bought him three of his favorites, which he placed on his desk. Headphones are a must-have for men—wired or wireless. After asking around, I found that all my male friends either own or want a better pair. Here are two headphones that my boyfriend loved.
1) **AirPods**
Background: Initially, I thought my boyfriend wouldn’t care much about headsets. But one day, he mentioned wanting a good wireless headset. I did some research and he chose between Sony’s noise-canceling Bluetooth and AirPods. He ended up choosing AirPods because all his devices are Apple. For him, it's a matter of compatibility and convenience.

- Sound quality is decent, better than wired.
- Bluetooth connection is fast (about 2-3 seconds), touch-sensitive.
- Battery life is longer than an iPhone, with 5 hours of playtime.
- Music stops when you take them off, which is smarter than wired.

2) **Bose QC30 Noise-Canceling Headphones**
Another great option is the Bose QC30. A friend gave these to her boyfriend, and he loved them. Some features include:
- Excellent noise cancellation.
- Better sound quality than AirPods, though I didn’t notice a huge difference.
- Comfortable fit, but the neckband may feel slightly uncomfortable after long use.
A Nike backpack plus Bose headphones is enough to make any boyfriend happy.
**IV. Mechanical Keyboard**
If your boyfriend likes gaming or works with code, consider a mechanical keyboard. I didn’t know much about them before, so I researched several brands and selected the Ikbc C104 Red Axis. I sent it to my boyfriend to match his Mac (as typing on a Mac is uncomfortable). Later, he took it to the office, and he loved it.
I included a dust cover, which makes it more personal.
**Conclusion:**
- Very heavy, PBT keycaps with a nice texture.
- Great typing experience, lightweight.
- Clicking sounds are clear, perfect for gaming or typing.
- Sleek white design, but the pen tip is visible and hard to wipe off.
**V. Daily Necessities: Philips Electric Toothbrush HX6730**
I saw someone recommend an electric toothbrush earlier, but after checking with male friends, I found not all guys like them. So, it really depends on personal preference. Some prefer manual brushes, and others may already have one. If your boyfriend uses an electric brush, check if he's using the same one or needs a new one, since electric toothbrushes last longer.
I chose the Philips HX6730 for its good value. Features include:
- Sonic wave technology that doesn’t rattle.
- Soft bristles that are comfortable, and my boyfriend changed the head after two months.
- Cleaner brushing than manual, and his teeth looked whiter afterward.
**VI. Watches: Swiss Mido Mechanical Watch**
I gifted my boyfriend a watch on our second anniversary. I had saved up a bit and aimed for a 5,000 yuan watch. I found a Mido from Korea’s duty-free shop at 5,500 yuan, but during Double 11, I got it for 5,000 on JD.com.
This mechanical watch has a retro style, is elegant, and has great details. It matches well and is easy to handle. Although mechanical watches can lose a few seconds a day, it’s normal.
