The 250-gram drone is actually capable of mapping work!

Usually we think that drones are just expensive toys for aerial photography enthusiasts, but they also have a great role in business and research and development. For example, drones can be mapped, delivered, rescued, etc., but for some small businesses or research institutions, they can't afford the expensive price of professional drones.

As a result, a development team in Italy launched a Tsubasa V3 open source drone designed to help some researchers use professional-grade mapping drones at a lower price.

The fixed-wing drone features a weight of only 250 grams, but integrates 2.4GHz wireless network, GPS module, telemetry module, solar panel, built-in lithium battery and other components, very comprehensive.

The reason why the drone weight is controlled at 250 grams is that it is better able to perform the surveying work, but also for longer flight time.

Basically, the Tsubasa V3 can achieve a flight speed of 10 m / s, and the endurance is 15 minutes. This endurance is enough to achieve a certain area of mapping. Of course, the development team is still trying to integrate more solar panels to extend their endurance.

Tsubasa V3's ability to paint and measure is impressive, and it can be used to achieve more detailed geomorphological surveys, which is of great help to some research teams.

Tsubasa V3 is an open source product that offers a DIY digital package of 99 euros (approximately RMB 716). Users can obtain CAD drawings and instructions and use their own 3D printer to make their own drones.

Of course, the development team also provided the finished product, but the price is relatively expensive, it needs to pay 1,650 euros (about 12,000 yuan), and the delivery time is from March to April next year.
