The roller-type travel switch uses a roller and cam mechanism. When the moving part of the machine presses against the roller, it rotates, causing the cam to push the microswitch, which then activates the contact. These switches can be either single-roller (auto-reset) or double-roller (non-auto-reset). The double-roller type retains a "memory" state, making it useful in certain control circuits where maintaining a position is important.
Micro-switch type travel switches, such as the widely used LXW-11 series, are compact and highly sensitive. Their design allows for quick response to even small movements. The internal components include a push rod, spring, moving and breaking contacts, and a compression spring that ensures reliable operation. These switches are often used in applications requiring precise positioning and fast response times.
