Migrant workers play high-power LED street lights to fill in the blanks


Yesterday, the reporter learned from Tongliang that a high-tech enterprise built by three returning migrant workers in the county solved the problem of integrated packaging of high-power LED street lamps. According to the County Science and Technology Commission, this achievement not only fills the gap in the city, but also hopes to bring about a municipal streetlight revolution.

The company, called Chongqing Xinshuguang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., was established by three returning migrant workers in the county. The registration time is less than one month. Wu Qianping, one of the company's technical leaders and partners, told reporters that the reason why he chose to return to his hometown was because there were no similar enterprises and products in the city and he found a market gap.

LED lighting is a new type of solid-state lighting that converts electrical energy directly into light energy through light-emitting diodes. Traditional high-pressure sodium lamps must first convert electrical energy into thermal energy and then convert thermal energy into light energy. Therefore, LED lamps are much more energy efficient than high pressure sodium lamps and more durable than high pressure sodium lamps.

At present, the domestic LED lighting technology generally adopts a single diode lighting technology, which is widely used in electronic displays of highways and railway stations, as well as outdoor billboards and urban lighting. However, due to the lack of light, it is rarely used for outdoor street lighting.

In the past 10 years, Wu Qianping has been engaged in technical work in LED lighting production enterprises in Shanghai and Zhejiang. He not only mastered the core technology of LED lighting, but also worked hard to solve the problem of integrated packaging of LED street lamps. According to him, the core of the technology is to pack a large number of individual LEDs on an integrated chip for secondary light distribution, so that the light scattered to the surrounding is concentrated in one direction. As a result, high-power street lamps can be produced to meet outdoor lighting requirements.

Wu Qianping’s technology caught the attention of two other Tongliang migrant workers. The three people decided to raise funds together and return to their hometowns.

The reporter learned that the LED street lamps they produced had only 100 watts of power and the high-intensity sodium lamps with a luminous brightness of more than 300 watts. Wu Qianping said that the service life of this street lamp is more than 10 times that of ordinary street lamps, and the power consumption is only equivalent to 36% of ordinary street lamps. Now, there are 600,000 street lamps in the city. If they are all replaced with LED street lights, they can save 800 million kWh per year.

At present, Xinliangguang Company has submitted three technical invention patents to relevant state departments. The company has also been listed as a high-tech enterprise supported by the County Science and Technology Commission.
