Technical stickers|Why can't I play 5.1 surround sound?

Friends who use the HiFi music TV app may know that we have a 5.1 surround sound zone but different from the regular two-channel music 5.1 surround sound music has higher requirements for the device. Some friends have already played the 5.1 surround sound selection device. Find ways to make a look at Venus

Although the puffer fish is beautiful, it also requires a qualified chef to control.

So how can we successfully push down the ridiculous 5.1 surround sound?
We slowly talk from selecting equipment to specific operations.

What equipment to buy?

Thanks to the vast domestic market, brand manufacturers of smart set-top boxes and smart TVs are everywhere, and we have a wide selection of models and styles. So how do we choose to play 5.1 surround sound from this large number of jagged devices?

First, let's take a look at the four basic conditions for smart set-top boxes and smart TVs to support our 5.1 surround sound music:
1. Support HDMI, or coaxial, optical fiber transmission;
2, support "source code transparent transmission", some devices will also name it "straight through", "RAW", etc.;
3, support .ts video format playback, we currently package 5.1 surround sound into the video format to support more devices;
4, support DTS encoding "streaming" playback (because some devices only support the playback of local DTS files).

So how do you check if it meets the above 4 points? Let us look at it little by little.
1, very simple, look at the device with or without HDMI interface, or S / PDIF interface;
2, open the system settings of the device, look at the sound settings or data output mode, there is no "source passthrough", "straight through", "RAW" options;
3. Check the manual to see if it supports the .ts format; or join our QQ group 274543181, download the “1812.ts” file to the U disk in the group file, insert it into the device and play it with the built-in player, which can play normally. If it is, then support.
4, whether to support DTS "streaming", this is difficult to test locally, it is recommended to try on the HiFi music app.

In addition, because our 5.1 surround sound music files are large, each song reaches 1, 2 megabytes, and usually the smart TV has a small running memory, which is prone to running out of memory and unable to load songs. Therefore, Xiaowu strongly recommends Use a smart set-top box instead of a smart TV! ! !

Well, after the device as the output of the audio source is selected, it will go to the home theater AV amplifier.
The choice of AV amplifier is relatively simple, as long as you choose a reliable brand, such as Onkyo, Yamaha, etc., the old model, the amplifier that supports DTS decoding is basically not a problem, of course, its connection interface needs to interface with the audio output device. Match. However, because coaxial and fiber can only support 5.1 channel transmission at most, it is recommended to use HDMI interface to connect AV amplifier.

I don’t need to say more about the speakers. Everyone knows that only the left and right speakers are impossible to release the surround sound.

How to set up after buying a device?

1. In the system setting of the set-top box, set the sound setting or data output mode to "source pass-through", "through" or "RAW";
2. Set the decoding mode of the AV amplifier to "DTS";
3. The set-top box and the power amplifier are connected by HDMI cable or coaxial or optical fiber. If the amplifier has multiple access ports, it should also be set to use the interface of the connected set-top box.
4, 5.1 surround sound music files are large, and the music length is only 3 or 4 minutes, so the amount of data it needs to load per second is very large, requires high network speed support, it is recommended to use more than 20M broadband, with network cable Connect directly, not WiFi.
Basically, the music in the 5.1 surround sound zone has been successfully played here, but some friends who have already purchased the device may have encountered the situation that the surround sound cannot be played.

When 5.1 surround sound cannot be played, first click on the circular pattern in the lower left corner to enter the song play page to see if the progress bar is moving, and the music time is not passing.

1. The progress bar is moving, but there is no sound or noise. The progress bar indicates that the audio output device has successfully read the music file. In this case, please confirm whether the amplifier supports DTS decoding, and whether the set-top box or smart TV supports source code transmission. If it is supported, it may be that the device is not set up. You need to set the sound setting or data output mode of the set-top box or smart TV to “source pass-through”, “straight through” or “RAW”. The decoding mode of the amplifier is set to “DTS”. ”, the set-top box and the power amplifier are connected by HDMI cable or coaxial or optical fiber.

2, the progress bar does not move this situation has three possibilities:
1, the network is not good, can not load songs, because 5.1 surround sound files are relatively large, the network requirements are higher, please check the network speed, and it is recommended to use network cable connection, not WIFI;
2. The device is running out of memory and cannot load songs. Please clean up the memory in this case. If the memory cannot be solved anyway, it may be that the running memory of the device itself is small, so it is recommended to use a smart set-top box instead of a smart TV;
3. The device itself does not support the file format and cannot recognize music files. Our current 5.1 surround sound is in the .ts format. If the device does not support it, it is a pity that there is no other way than to change the device. However, if there is a remedy for the great god, I hope to share it with everyone~

3,5.1 surround sound broadcast is a two-channel. This must be set up according to the above setting method! Go to set the sound setting or data output mode of the set-top box or smart TV to “Source Passthrough”, “Through Pass” or “RAW”, and set the decoding mode of the amplifier to “DTS”. If you can't find the option of "source passthrough", "through" or "RAW", then your device does not support this feature, you can only suggest that you change the device~

4, 5.1 surround sound zone audition can put, other albums can not put the audition and other albums are different: 1, the audition time is short, the file size is relatively large, so the device may run out of memory Loading songs, or the network is not good enough to load the song; 2, the audition is played on the webpage, and the normal album is played in the app, which may result in a very small chance of compatibility.

5, the mobile party also wants to listen to 5.1 surround sound how to do picky and proud of the 5.1 surround sound requirements of the device is relatively high, the need for audio output to support DTS streaming media playback, and currently supports the audio format of very few mobile phones, and 5.1 The music files of surround sound are very large, and each song will reach 1, 2 megabytes, which will cause a heavy load on the mobile phone. Therefore, our current mobile app does not support 5.1 surround sound.
